BIOGRAPHY

Jody's
vibrant and refined soprano has been reviewed with enthusiasm
throughout the NY region. Her versatility and flexibility as a
singer and an actress have led her to perform in a wide range of
venues, from musical theater to oratorio.
Jody has appeared as a soloist in many choral works including the Magnificats of Bach and Rutter, the Requiems of
Brahms, Faure and Rutter, Haydn’s Theresienmesse and
Kleine Orgelmesse, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Vaughan
Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, Handel's Messiah and
Vivaldi’s Gloria. She is a frequent guest soloist with
Classic Choral Society under the direction of Janiece Kohler,
recently performing Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio. This past summer she appeared as Valencienne in Franz Lehar’s The Merry Widow with the Delaware Valley Opera under the direction of Jim Blanton. She has also appeared at Alice Tully with the NYU Choral Arts Society and at Cami Hall in recital. Jody's musical theatre credits include the first national tour of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, directed by James Lapine in which she performed both Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. She has also toured Europe as Christine in Ken Hill’s operatic adaptation of
Phantom of the Opera. She has appeared as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah many times, including at the West Point
Cadet Chapel, conducted by Craig Williams. In December 2010, Jody
will sing the Messiah in its entirety with the Cathedral Choir and
the American Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Robert F. Davis.
This spring, Jody will be appearing with Classic Choral Society and
Dr. David Crone’s Jubilate Youth Chorale as soloist in Rutter’s Mass for the Children.
Currently, Jody is collaborating with renowned jazz pianist and composer Richard Kimball on a program of works by Barber, Bernstein,
and Kimball to be performed in Tuxedo Park NY in 2010. A graduate
of New York University with a degree in Voice and Theatre, as well as a master’s in Food Studies, and an alumnus of the Institute of
Culinary Education, Jody has combined her performing experience with
her knowledge of the culinary arts in several television food
venues, as well as writing for numerous food publications and
cookbooks. She is currently a student of Susan Eichhorn-Young and
is the soprano soloist at St. Mary’s church in Tuxedo Park, NY. Jody
also maintains a private voice studio in Warwick, NY.
